Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH)
The research center SCCH was founded in 1999 by the Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU) as Austrian non-university
research & technology organization with focus on software and data science. SCCH is closely connected with many
manufacturers of industrial machinery and automated production systems located in the region of Upper Austria. As such
the center provides the ideal link between the scientific research and the industrial expertise and is ideally suited as
consortium leader for DEPS.
CODE National Cyber Defense Research Institute,
Bundeswehr University Munich (CODE)
CODE was founded in 2016 to lead the national cybersecurity research efforts of the German ministry of defense, with
co-location and tight integration of the Ministry of the Interior, and the Federal Intelligence Service, thus creating a
unique cluster in Europe.
Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL),
HexHive research laboratory
EPFL is Europe’s most cosmopolitan technical university with a specialization in natural sciences and engineering.
It welcomes students, professors, and collaborators of more than 120 nationalities. EPFL has both a Swiss and
international vocation and focuses on three missions: teaching, research, and innovation. The HexHive research
laboratory has a clear focus on software and systems security using software testing, mitigations and compartments.
Johannes Kepler University Linz, LIT Secure and
Correct Systems Lab (JKU)
JKU is among the top-ranked young universities in Europe and home to one of the most successful computer science
departments in Austria. The LIT Secure and Correct Systems Lab bundles the knowledge of nine different institutes in
a focus on secure systems design spanning the various sub-fields.

University of Applied Sciences at Upper Austria is a top-ranked UAS in Austria and a vital part of the Hagenberg computer
science success story. It is incorporated in the research area of Information and Communication and deals with research
topics related to Embedded Systems, Cyber Physcial Systems, Internet of Things and Electronic Design Automation.
